Day 2 : Morning

Woke up with the bird chirps and freshened up with a morning coffee. After having Coorgi breakfast at the estate, we were ready for our trip to Bhagamandala.

Visited Shri Bhagandeshwara Temple (1000 year old ; Kerala architecture style). Just opposite the temple is the Triveni Sangam (confluence of River Cauvery, Kanika and Sujyoti). We got an opportunity to experience the chilling river water at the confluence.

After spending an hour, we started towards Talacauvery – the birth place of River Cauvery

Located at 1276m above sea level, we could feel the clouds passing us. There is a small shrine situated in front of the tank – which is the origin point of the river. The overflowing water passes through the Nandhi spout and goes downstream.

Day 2 : Afternoon

After visiting the most famous Talacauvery, we returned to Madikeri and relished our lunch at Coorg Cuisine – an authentic home made Coorgi food. Do try their Bamboo shoot curry and Chicken Kodava curry (unique taste)

After a heavy lunch, we did spice shopping at Ainmane . They sell high quality spices and coffee varieties. They also sell the world’s expensive coffee – Civet Coffee. What’s that?? You will be surprised (like me)!

Day 2 : Evening

We visited Raja's Seat – Madikeri’s famous scenic spot where the erstwhile Kings of Kodavas used to see the Sunset and sunrise. What an awesome leisure they had!

For kids, they have a Toy train and don’t miss that!
