Why is it my 1st Self-Planned trip?
In 2016, I had visited Singapore’s neighboring country, Malaysia – through a travel agency.
As a country, Malaysia – was fantastic. Very good infrastructure and awesome sight-seeing places like Genting Island and Langkawi. But, the travel agency made it quite troublesome – with exorbitant rates & no proper co-ordination.
That’s when I decided I shall self-plan my future trips
Why did I choose Singapore?
Answer is very simple. My parents wanted to see!

‘Passion Made Possible’ – Singapore’s tagline is a perfect example. Since 1965, that passion within them – was the sole reason for their well-planned development and have been an inspiration for other countries.
5 Key Steps to evaluate before going to Singapore:
- Feb-April : Best months to visit Singapore. To thoroughly enjoy, you might think ‘How many days in Singapore?’ – My recommendation is minimum 6 days!
- Plan your

- Plan your
- Based on family’s food palate and that our daughter (1 year old) needed milk at regular intervals, I had preferred Little India as my area of stay.
- After a thorough research on all hotels based on:
- Rating
- Restaurants nearby
- Approach to Singapore Metro
- We had preferred
ParkRoyal on Kitchener Road. I got a very good deal on a Quadruple Family Room (perfect for 4 family members) - You can choose a hotel stay based on your preferences –>
Hotels in Singapore- Always, make it a point to drop an email to the Hotel to confirm your booking (if you are booking through 3rd party websites)
- After a thorough research on all hotels based on:
- Plan your
itineraryand mode of transportation- Singapore is well-connected with Metros, Bus Feeders & Cabs (Grab & Local Taxi Services – though they are little expensive).
- For Metro & Bus travel, you can use
NetsPay Travel Card. It is seamless to travel at discounted rates and are also accepted in some restaurants
- For Metro & Bus travel, you can use
- For route map, Google Maps is the best! No question about it
- Singapore is well-connected with Metros, Bus Feeders & Cabs (Grab & Local Taxi Services – though they are little expensive).
- In regards to mode of currency:
- Have a Forex / Credit Card that has the lowest load / currency conversion charges. Singapore accepts Card at almost all places
- Have SGD 700-1000 as cash – helpful in case of emergency
- Plan your Travel Policies and in regards to Medicines:
- In Singapore, you can purchase only OTC Drugs without prescription. Antibiotics cannot be purchased without a Singapore doctor’s prescription
