COORG (also called as Kodagu and Scotland of India) is one of the most sought after hill-town in India. Situated in the Western Ghats, Karnataka (6hrs drive from Bangalore) – it is also known as the ‘Coffee bowl of India‘!
5 Key Steps to Self-Plan your Coorg Vacation:
- October to March is the season time to visit Coorg. If you love to visit during rainy season like me, June to September is the time – but, do watch out the weather forecast as it rains heavily!
- Area of Stay: If your vacation is for:

in or close to Madikeri. It is the headquarters of Coorg and mid-point to all sightseeing places - Leisure : Prefer a

- Travel within Coorg: Preferable to have a personal car or cab to drive around Coorg. Do have Google Maps installed in your phone!
- Food: You do get continental food. But, do try out their unique Kodava cuisine.
- If travelling with kids, I would suggest you to have your Dinner at your place of stay (as there is not enough lighting on roads)
- Medicines: If you are staying outside Madikeri, it is better to have your medicines handy,
